What a day! A couple of us from the Book Club woke up to a rainy day and headed out to Barnes & Noble in Alpharetta, GA to meet Charlotte Hughes. She arrived to promote her latest novel – Nutcase.

We thought we arrived for a book signing but got something much better! Charlotte took an interesting approach to promoting herself. She did not assume everyone was familiar with her writing history, books or even her name. She introduced herself as if she hadn’t been writing for 14 years. She read a portion of Chapter 1 from her novel – What Looks Like Crazy. This was the first novel to the series. We spent an hour with Charlotte talking, getting her signature and taking pictures. She is very personable and you can see how easily her humor transfers into her writing. Charlotte is New York Times Bestselling author. Sadly to say, I had not heard of her until she sent me an email introducing her new book. Of course, Charlotte took everyone by surprise when she brought in delicious cookies. I declared her my favorite author right on the spot! I have a bit of sweet-tooth 🙂 As you can see, she was very generous with her time. Here she is posing with me.

I’m reading What Looks Like Crazy now and then I’ll go right into Nutcase. So check back for reviews.
